About the book

The idea for this book evolved some two years ago. After a meeting with some fellow modellers, we ended up in a discussion about the great number of publications available on the hobby.

Despite the fact that many Swedish modellers are frequently active on the Internet and in international shows, no specialist publications are produced in any of the Scandinavian countries.

So, our publication serves two purposes:
Firstly, we want to display the work done by Swedish modellers thereby introducing them to a larger audience. Secondly, we want to present the thinking and research that goes into each modelling project, hopefully inspiring other modellers to try a different approach when embarking on a new project. Instead of presenting detailed accounts of every step in the building process, the overriding goal of this book was to create a clear and appealing format in which the models and dioramas were allowed to speak for themselves.
